As these hammers are all hand etched, carved, stained, finished, and wrapped they will each also be a bit unique.

The bear is a powerful totem, representing explosive destruction and natural disaster. This Berserker maul combines a few symbols into one, however. One eye of the bear is surrounded by the Aegishjalmur, a symbol said to grant invincibility in battle. The other eye is surrounded by the Vegvisir, a symbol said to prevent one from ever becoming lost. The forehead of the bear is adorned with the rune Uruz, which speaks of strength and potential. The runes along the handle read "I am the ground that shakes".

This piece consists of a repurposed 6lb. sledgehammer. The head is solid steel, the handle hickory, and is approximately 20 1/2 inches long.

This piece is indeed functional as a hammer, though use would certainly mar the finish. It is ideally used as part of a Renaissance faire costume or as a conversation piece, but it is entirely up to you!
